READY SET PROGRAM
Ready Set Dance is an innovative program designed specifically to introduce young children to the world of dance. In each class, teachers explore aspects of the Ready Set Dance curriculum through playful approaches that are responsive to the curiosity and imagination of young learners. The children respond with active and joyful engagement and participation that enables them to practice and refine the skills and capacities needed for dance. At the same time, the children are extended across the various developmental domains of physical, cognitive, language, and social development and use learning processes such as attending, remembering, and problem-solving. Through regular and sustained participation in Ready Set Dance classes children develop positive dispositions to learning such as enthusiasm, independence, concentration, persistence, co-operation, and the three C’s of confidence, coordination, and creativity. Ready Set Dance offers much to support the play and learning of young children in Australia and beyond.
Attending Kindergarten is a big step for your little one and should be celebrated, so at our studio we run a fun & engaging class that teaches our students the love of dance in the styles of Ballet, Jazz, Tap & Hip Hop! A 60 min class for children 5 - 6 years of age, this is a comprehensive class introducing our students to the technical side of dance and begins entrusting them with responsibilities of buddying with new or shyer students.
Does your prince or princess dream of flying on a cloud and dancing the night away? Ballet is a beautiful and graceful style of dance that is crucial in the training of all dancers and a staple of our program at Storm the Stage. Our specialiSed program teaches a dancer deportment and grace whilst developing strength, flexibility, and knowledge of classical dance. Our BAL style classes are available for all ages and all levels from beginner to advanced.
Tap is a wonderfully fun and ‘noisy’ style of dance which is characterised by using the sounds of metal tap plates on the bottom of tap shoes striking the floor as a form of percussion. Here at Storm the Stage our Tap teachers teach your little dancer coordination and a keen sense of musicality and rhythm through the BAL Tap and Beats program. Letting your child explore sound and movement in a tap class with other children their age can help inspire confidence and creativity in your child today.
Does your child have pazazz? That WOW factor? Our Jazz dancers learn strength, flexibility, and coordination whilst maintaining high energy and fast pace through diverse styles, from old broadway and musical theatre style jazz through to modern pop styles seen at concerts and in top 40 video clips. If your child is a bundle of energy and creativity, jazz may be the style of dance for them! Our BAL Jazz program is exciting and energetic and is open to all ages and dance levels.
Hip Hop is a street style of dance where energy is invested in originality, creativity, identity, respect, and community. Hip Hop dancers learn the funkiest and coolest moves through the use of athleticism, attitude, and creative originality including a wide range of styles primarily breaking, locking, and popping. Your child will learn moves and steps that will truly impress their friends and family through our BAL Hip Hop program.
Contemporary/Lyrical dance is a dance form that has developed to express thoughts and feelings that cannot be expressed in words. An expressive and contemporary style of dance our Contemporary/Lyrical classes incorporate movements ranging from soft and lyrical, to abstract and angular. Contemporary/Lyrical dancers learn a strong technical basis of dance that has become very popular in the modern dance industry and is studied at schools in HSC level.
FLEXIBILITY & FITNESS
Do you think kid's personal training is about working out at a gym or lifting weights? For kids, it is about being active running about doing the things kids do. Our program for your child includes elements of games and sport skills, focusing on endurance, strength, and flexibility. A class for all ages focusing on increasing muscle flexibility and strength as well as increasing aerobic fitness, all of which are extremely important for all dancers. We highly encourage all students to attend at least one Flexibility & Fitness Class per week to get the most out of your dance education.
The program is based on safe and effective progressions with proven results in five divisions of AcroDance: Flexibility, Strength, Balancing, Limbering, and Tumbling. Developed with input from professionals and experts in ballet, modern dance, jazz, contortion, artistic gymnastics, rhythmic gymnastics, sports acrobatics, yoga, acro yoga, pilates, physiotherapy, hand balancing, and more, you will not find a more comprehensive program. Simple thoughtful progressions take the beginner preschool level dancer from log rolls and summersaults to the advanced dancer tumbling effortlessly across the stage.
